I don't want to sit down for hours researching this game, I just want to have fun. So if someone can break it down simply or share what their strategy was their first playthrough, that would be awesome. It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. If you're dying a lot in battle, you could try guarding attacks more. You don't take nearly as much damage while guarding, and then you can usually counter attack the enemy. Magic attacks can't be guarded, unless you use Gaurdian. (press down direction while guarding) It also works to just dodge some of them by running left or right, unless it's a homing attack like Fireball.
You could also try commanding your allies.
(Idk the controls for Steam, but on PS3, you hold L and press a direction to select a command) For example, if your allies are low on health, you could try Guard command.Īlso, Ex Gems and Types don't matter all that much. Basically, each gem can be used to set a bonus ability, and that ability will be S or T type. If you have a gem majority of a certain type, your character will become that type. Your type decides which Techs you'll learn, but they're all good, so it doesn't matter that much. From my experience, every character is good on their default type.
